Mobile Travelling with a child with a disability

We have friends going in 2 weeks with their family. Their 11 year old son has arthritis, will they be able to get a disability card so they don’t have to queue with him for a long time?

Not sure the sunflower lanyard will help with queueing for rides but is useful for the airport.

The DAS system in Disney World sounds like it might be something useful but no one can really say they will definitely get it. They need to ask when in the park at Guest Services. Its a pretty straight forward thing to sort once there. You can't book in advance and its up to the CM whether they issue one or not but this is the type of thing they are meant to be for. If you go over to the Special Needs section you should be able to find some more info on this. They have a similar thing at Universal and Seaworld I believe too

Definitely head over to the Special Needs section...

From what I can gather, nobody can answer your question. It will depend on the CM you speak to. Your friends will need to explain why they want the DAS pass. If it's 'just' for mobility issues, I think the DAS pass is unlikely to be granted, as they suggest you use wheelchair/ scooter etc instead. But my knowledge on all this is limited, there's a ton of info on Special Needs x

That about sums it up. If the needs are about mobility, a wheelchair will be suggested. If there are other needs which make queuing difficult, then a DAS may help.
