Wow, that's fantastic. I might change some up at ICE the weekend before i go, they seem to have great rates for cash.

Excellent - we changed £1000 a month ago and got $1.49, thinking it was good.
Its hard to know what to do, take a chance and change a few £££££ now or let it sit for a while and hope the $ keeps rising. DECISIONS DECISIONS

We bought a fairFx card last week with the minimum $20 on it and as we don't fly till the 6th Sept we are going to hold off buying the bulk of our Dollars to see how much more it climbs. $1.60 would be amazing.

Seems the US had some poor growth figures this morning, hence the rise in the £.
I ordered earlier today and got 1.57 (just under), and was happy with that. No doubt the rate will now soar to 1.80 overnight. I don't mind, as we always do a mix of cash and card, so if the rate keeps going up I'll still get it for the card purchases. I have a Post Office card too which I believe doesn't add on charges etc for use overseas!
