Jet garages -that takes me back!

I'd forgotten that. We had a behemoth of a Ford Expedition (absolutely fabulous) that was averaging 17.2 to the gallon. I now realise it was far worse than I thought. To be fair, I was starting it remotely from inside the villa a few minutes before we went out sometimes, as with temp's hitting the high nineties you could hardly breath when you got in the car.

I suspect it was better than you thought. Probably 22 mpg in U.K. proper measurements. Not these European and American weird measurement thingys

Don’t worry, you’re not on your own, I got caught there a number of years ago, didn’t put a great deal in when I realised but never again

At that speed did you still have the man with the flag going in front.
Did it ever make 10 mph?

Also stay away from Sun Coast Energys on S Semoran Blve and Sun Gas which is opposite on the corner of S Semoran/Butler, just north of MCO, these pair have been deliberately goughing for years. Orlando council stepped on in but they still refused to openly advertise their prices. About a mile further on is a WaWa.

Perhaps the best bit of advice is don't use gas stations who don't openly advertise, or, if you do drive in check the pump price first.

HERE is the gougher's location.

I got caught short last week as well heading back to MCO... went into the place below at junction 1 on the 528
Asked for $30, which should have gave change from being 1/4 full..! ... it took it all and the needle was still short of full
It was $3.59... never noticed till I was almost done

Was sure Alamo would have charged for the needle being down from full but he signed it of at $0 value..

Used to give it a squirt of Redex when I filled up. No idea why but it said it was good for the engine.

My favourite car was my brother’s Hillman Imp, 1971 made just like my brother. He bought it in 1994 and lasted another 10 years before going to a restorer. Such a lovely car. Because of the 2 different discussions, I’m now having a laugh thinking of an imp or minx trying to drive in the Orlando heat. What a picture.

$2.55 at Wawa on the 535 this afternoon. Only need enough to get to MCO so only put $3 in - hopefully that will do it!

Edit- Made it with a few miles to spare!
