So nearly on our way!

So we are currently sat in the bubble of our virgin flight in Manchester. We were heading for the runway but then there was a technical problem with the air con and so now we are back at the stand and need more fuel once it’s fixed. I’d happily have been on our way and been a bit hot 🤣
The crew are telling us the pilot has permission to fly ‘quicker’ due to the delay, is that even a thing?!
Hopefully on our way to Florida soon 🤞🏻

Yes, it is such a thing, flying times really have three elements, the route, wind and the speed.

Routes can be changed to allow an aircraft to travel a shorter distance. The normal speed is balanced for efficiency, but can be higher at the cost of burning more fuel.

Wind of course is uncontrollable.

Thanks for the info. We made up a little time and made it to Epcot for the fireworks. After 12hours on the plane we were ready to get off and join the immigration queue, the bonus of a long queue is your bags are ready and waiting when you get through 🙂
