"ribbon cutting" ceremony

Can anyone clarify if the "ribbon cutting" ceremony takes place at MGM every morning as it apparently does at Magic Kingdom?

Also how early before the park opening time for a particular day is it best to be there for?

Elaine

There is an opening ceremony at every park, I haven't seen the MGM one but have seen the other 3. It is worth getting to the park about half an hour before opening, you will be let so far into the park and then stopped. The characters will come by and there will be some sort of show and then they 'rope drop' and you can enter the rest of the park.

I think I remember that there's an opening ceremony - might even be a bus with characters on. They certainly keep you back in the area just in front of Spaceship Earth before the official opening time.

Each park has a different opening ceremony.
MK is the best with the characters arriving on the train then doing a little song and dance routine and a lucky family are chosen to sprinkle the pixie dust to open the park.

If it is a day for early EMH at a park, what time is the opening thing? Does it happen at normal park opening or with the start of EMH?

Start with EMH.

If you go to the rope drop take running shoes!

TBH every time we have been to the rope drop the CMs stop every one from running and keep eveyone behind them at a walking pace (which is good as there are lots of children) once there was a family who ignored them and the security stopped them and warned them they would be removed from the park if they ignored the CMs again, the security kept them untill the initial rush had gone

It is done much better at WDW than in DLP, no runing whereas France its a stampede.
