I'm going to have to buy mine in the next day or so as I can't put it off much longer seeing that I'm travelling next week. It does put it into perspective when a previous poster compares the potential difference to the price of a couple of G&T's.

yep thanks for the G&T comment - you're right, a cent or two is hardly going to break the bank eh!

Best advice I ever had on here was buy when you are happy and stop looking.

For me, when we went last year it was 1.45, now its gonna be 1.57 off the high street so if you are happy, get them bought. Its a gamble either way.

But just buy at a rate you are happy with (realistically, its not gonna get to 1.7 before next week)

I saw that advice and always had $1.55 in my head but when I was ready to buy it was still going up and was $1.57 anyway. I saw it hit $1.6 I bought half and when it went up more bought rest up $1.62. Anything over the $1.55 was a bonus though. Only got $1.43 and $1.45 last year.

Its a difference of at least $104.00 for us compared to the rate at Easter when I was going to buy it, but because of the bank holidays and royal wedding bank holidays the money didn't transfer in time Thats more than just a couple of G & T's to us so I for one do hope it goes back up.

We got 1.8 in 2003 & 1.6 in 2000. I'm happy with anything over 1.5 to be honest.
