Gutted one man's dream and the little mermaid show will be going. I'm really not in to star wars, so not excited at all by the new plans. I agree that the park needed something new, but it sounds like it'll be completely unrecognizable. Fantasmic hasn't been mentioned, does it mean thats going too?

Have to say I'm not impressed with their plans. The park does badly need updating I'll admit that but it seems like they're getting rid of a lot of stuff that is popular & well loved eg. Beauty & the Beast show, Disney Jr, animation station, Little Mermaid etc. to basically put in more Star Wars stuff & Indiana Jones? Really isn't justifiable to me but then I'm not a fan of either of those films. Fingers crossed the Pixar stuff will make up for it but I doubt it.

Safe to say we'll most likely be avoiding HS altogether on our next trip not that they'll be much left any ways no doubt - will basically just be a building site

Ditto.

I have hated the direction Hollywood Studios has been going in over the years. They have totally destroyed the charm of old Hollywood and are seemingly replacing it with a mish mash of things they have bought the rights to so feel they need to use.

Avartarland is top of the list for utterly stupid decisions, but taking DHS over with Star Wars and (in the last 8ish years) Playhouse Disney is a close second. I get the feeling they don't really know what to do with the park and they are seemingly stumbling forward with a random bunch of ideas. The day MGM didn't renew their sponsorship was a sad day...it all went downhill from there!
RIP Hollywood Studios, I look forward to seeing you as a building site for the next 15 years...

I'm sad that they are moving away from the movie making theme. That's the reason I loved MGM, BUT something had to change. Love the Indy ride in Disneyland so happy that's moving and pleased they're keeping GMR. It's naff but it makes me smile.

I really don't want them to close the B&TB show, it's my most favourite thing. But doesn't seem like it will fit in a new Star Wars/Pixar/Indie themed park.

Illuminations will be staying, just as a different show. It will be called 'Illuminations - " new name here"- instead of 'Illuminations - A Reflection of Earth'.

The $3bn budget is not just for DHS, some is for the other parks.

The entrance on Buena Vista Drive where the Buses enter is going to be for buses only, new parking garages are supposed to be built and the main entrance revamped with a possible entrance/exit from Victory Way opposite the AOA entrance, but this could be just for access for construction.

Now we know what the BoD was doing at WDW the other week...

I have to say I agree. I've never understood all the hype around avatar, and have never met anyone that's ever mentioned being excited about the sequel. I like Star Wars as much as the next person, but don't think they should be putting all their eggs in one basket.
