Mobile Anyone any experience with keloids?

Basically a few weeks ago I noticed like a small “blister” right along my bra band line. It wasn’t a blister though and wouldn’t pop. I sort of felt like it was always there but maybe it had become irritated so I noticed it. Was maybe about 4-5mm across. It worries me so I called the doctor - phone consultation said they thought it nothing but that I could go in and let them see to reassure me.
The doc immediately said a keloid when he saw it n said nothing to worry about.
I felt a little reassured - first thought why would I get a scar tissue there - but I do remember having a skin tag there which I removed myself so I thought perhaps a result of that but also is right where the bra wires end so perhaps irritated.
Anyway last weekend it felt itchy n I noticed it had gone really dry. I started rubbing on bio-oil - but also worrying like mad! It’s not been itchy since n has now seemed to lose the dry layer but it’s on my mind. I’ve googled n obviously you know what comes up.
I feel awkward cos the doc has seen it n said it’s nothing but I keep thinking what if he was wrong? I NEVER go to the docs and so to go back is an absolute no no n especially when I seem to be doubting the docs diagnoses.
So just wondering if anyone had them and their experience - is this normal? Do they get dry and itchy? To be fair my skin has been quite dry everywhere at the moment n suddenly have a dry patch on my leg that’s never been there before.

Steroid injections will settle a keloid scar, consult your GP.

The doc sort of said no real treatment - he said mine is very small and so would just leave it alone. He said that there is treatment for removal but that it has a very low success rate and that often causes more to come. I have no problem with it being there - it’s more is it normal to itch/get dry? And could the doc be wrong and it’s something more serious?

Thankyou for that link - was very helpful. I’m going to keep an eye on it and go back to the docs if I notice any changes.

Mine literally looks like a little blister that you get if you burn yourself. It literally looks like you could burst it. Last week it seemed less raised n then it was itchy n has gone quite dry - that’s when I started using the bio oil. It now is the same as when I first saw it - just part still has a dry bit on it. I went to the link and it said check monthly - so I am going to make a note and keep an eye on it and if there are any changes in a week I am going to go back to docs and voice my concerns.

My dd has one on her sternum area from when she had chickenpox. We went to the docs once because it was bothering her and they mentioned the possibility of steroid injections if it didn't settle. Hers did calm down and hasn't bothered her for years, I wonder if it flared sometimes as she was growing.

Hi they seem quite common. Have a look at the programme Dr pimple popper or do a search for her removing them, utube. Should be reasonably simple to remove
