Mobile Saying goodbye to my MacBook Pro - What Now

After 7 years & 2 charger changes, my MacBook Pro stopped charging last night. Not only is the charger not working but the charging port on the Mac is burnt out looking, doubtful I’d get it working by buying another charge.

What now, on the lookout for a new laptop. Something that can support lots of photo editing, video editing, watching movies & playing games smoothly with good graphics like planet coaster etc

I would have loved to buy the MacBook Pro again however from the version I have the price has gone up & seems nothing has changed on them, next level up would be the ones over 2,000 euro & I’d rather save & get an iMac.

Any recommendations, my budget would be about 1,500 in euros.

Personally, I would stay with Mac. Can’t beat them.

I did enjoy the Mac. Hated the storage on it though. Dropbox kept duplicating all my files & had to delete a lot of stuff.

Stick with Mac. Sometimes Apple sell refurbished models at a lower cost, might be worth looking in to that.

I'd recommend to stick with the Mac as well. You have all your files on there and you're familiar with the apps - it'd all be totally different on Windows and like starting from scratch!

What are the current specs of your laptop? The new Macbook Air is pretty good now, it recently got better specs added:

And definitely the refurbished ones are always a good choice - I got my last MacBook through here and it's been great for me:

I went from a pro to an Air because of the inflated cost of the Pros, very happy with it.

I had a problem with the charger port looking burnt and it not charging., turns out I had a dodgy charger. My local Mac agent cleaned it up for me and it works as new.

If you’re going to buy a new laptop, I’d stick with Mac as well.

Are you sure it’s had it? I had a problem with mine and was told by Apple I needed a new logic board for £500. I took it elsewhere to a MacBook specialist and he fixed it for £70! Maybe worth a try?

I had a Mac which I had numerous problems with. Mac lovers like to say they are immune to issues but I haven’t found that. I couldn’t justify replacing it so went back to pc haven’t regretted it.

I recently bought my dd a HP Pavilion x360 14. It’s a lovely laptop and happily supports photoshop and autocad. For about 1/3 price if a Mac.
