Lightning Pass Rumour.
Just saw this rumour on YouTube, a channel called Mickey Views. I have no idea how credible he is or if this is a load of rubbish but just thought I’d share after it popped up on my Twitter feed.
Lightning Pass is the rumoured paid version of fastpass. It’s said to be very similar to Universal express pass and therefore would be a premium price ranging from $100-$300 per person per day. It will go with the new Genie system soon to be implemented at Disney. This is said to be being discussed as a possibility by Disney but not yet decided on. Even the person saying this says take with a pinch of salt so not sure how true this will be. I hope not! Keep the old system.

Paid Lightning Pass Rumoured $100-$300 A Day
This guy is usually quite a good tipster. He does heavily caveat that they still haven’t made a final decision.
Gist is that you’ll be paying big money for the Fastpass replacement. They may also have virtual queues more, but they also create problems. His view is Disney have seen how they can take things away and cause people to jump through hoops, and people will still come so Disney are keen on attracting less people willing to pay more. Anyway, here is the video:

I can see Disney charging for fastpasses. I may do it for one day at MK (not my December trip as friends wouldn't do it) but next year and that will give me enough time to see if it worth it or if the standby lines move pretty quick or not.

Was about to post the same thing
Not a surprise but at up to $300 I don’t think so for us although I do Iike the book your days currently rather than the fast pass option as off site guests it was murder at times Note there was no mention if onsite guests would get it free or discounted |

I hope it’s not true. That could be potentially $1200 for a family of 4 for one day!

I don't see what was wrong with fast pass system? It wasn't even that old.
At least (MOST of time) you had 3 chosen rides you knew you were going to be able to get on without standing in mega queues in the heat, took SOME of the uncertainty and stress out of a visit. This would not be good news at all. Oh well, I'm just grateful we've had fast pass in all our visits up to now I suppose. It's those just starting out visiting now I feel for, and those with little kiddies

Be interesting to see if on-site guests get them for free.
What’s the genie system? |

Surely will be an on-site hotel incentive including these like universal. Watch this space.
