Quandary updated

I am not quite sure what to do. I have tried to contact our GP early this morning but the doctors who are supposed to be in today are isolating so it’s going to be over 48 hours for them to get back to me. I have sent all information and photos via askmyGP.
So after reading the announcement i have emailed and rang our IBD team but they take 48 hours minimum to get back to you. He is not bad enough for A&E but he is really struggling.
He is currently on two lots of antibiotics, this was a 2 week course and he has 4 days left. They make him feel sick so he is hardly eating. His skin keeps going mottled then fades then mottled. On the photo his stomach is distended but that happens all the time with his Crohn’s. He literally can hardly open his eyes as they are sore, itchy and watering and his face and lips are swollen.
He is taking his prescribed zirtec and antihistamine eye drops but they are not doing anything. All in all he feels terrible and I really want him checked out but its seems impossible 🤷

Here are photos of his skin and face. Sorry for gross pictures.

Oh God his little face.
I have no medical knowledge but I would want him seen too. How about 111 or whatever the non emergency number is?

Oh FT he looks poorly, poor little love. To be honest, I would call 111 and explain the situation. If you get no joy then contact the out of hours...

"If your GP is closed, or there isn’t an available appointment, you can ring the GP Evening and Weekend Appointment Service (also called the Extended Hours service) on 01942 482848.
They offer appointments on evenings 6.30-8pm and on weekends and bank holidays 10am-4pm."
I agree with you, I think he should be seen. Hope he is ok xx

Another thought, if the IBD team is unavailable do you have a contact to the Consultants secretary?

I did consider that but as soon as they hear he is on Azathioprine and infliximab infusions they send him off to A&E. They are obviously being cautious as he is still in a flare but I don’t think it warrants A&E but he is really struggling.
Can you ring 111 and request to see a doctor elsewhere? Somewhere not isolating

There is the walk in centres in Leigh and St Helens, they always have a doctor on but the wait is usually quite long.

Could you not contact anyone from his hospital team? Our liver unit have an email/phone number that specialist nurses monitor for things like this and advise accordingly. M
