Cars Road Trip - New DLP attraction

Having just watched a video of this "new" ride, I must say that describing it as underwhelming is the understatement of the century.

Why did they even bother, it's a complete joke. Probably the worst ride in all the Disney parks worldwide.

For those who want to see this disaster, here's the video:

They got rid of the backlot tour to give them space for other expansions and thought this was a good use of the existing catastrophe canyon. It will soak up people.

I hope that once the new lands and rides have opened at the Studios, they will demolish this. It looks ridiculous now, let alone next to Avengers Campus, Frozen Land, and the mini Galaxy's Edge (if indeed all of these plans are still going ahead post-Covid).

It is very obviously a cheap’n’cheerful placeholder until the big changes are made. Frankly it can’t be worse than what the tram tour had become.

What's really new: 2 minimalist non-moving scenes, 2 signs and lots of grass. Budget: €1000, maybe?

Me too, but the rest - ehh, so much of it no longer worked. I remember doing it in the early days when you actually drove through areas where people were working and interesting things were happening, such as wardrobe. Then it became 'Hey, here are some props from such firm favourites as ... Dinotopia! No, really, it was a thing!'

Reign of Fire was a terrible film (apart from the bit where they are telling their children the culture's sacred legend, and you realise it's Star Wars...!) but the set was fun and at least the fire warmed you up.
