Glasgow Queen st disabled parking
Does anyone know how likely we will be to get disabled parking on Queen Street in Glasgow? We are staying at the queen st Travelodge. Have a blue badge and tall vehicle so any car park with height restrictions likely to be unsuitable… so wondering what our best option would be. We won’t be using the car while we are there (2 nights)
Thanks for any help

There are disabled parking bays you can use but they do get very busy

Contact the hotel because I’m sure you can use the other bays on the street as well for free with your badge just not the loading bays
You do get a reduced rate at the NCP car park but that likely won’t be of use to you |

There is 4 bays at the train station side of George square but depending on mobility might be a bit of a walk
There is parking bays all over so you won’t be stuck and there is no time restrictions with the blade badge plus you don’t pay if you are in a ‘normal’ bay if you display your blue badge

Careful careful careful. Do not approach via West George St and Nelson Mandela Place. You will get caught in a bus gate and get a fine in the post. It catches folk unawares. Not sure of the actual approach, but it might be via cathedral Street. You should be able to park in a metered bay in George Square which will take care of the height issue.

That flipping bus lane is aright mare if you accidentally get in it and it’s easy as you come round the corner and the sat nav takes a minute to shout at you this is a bus lane especially as it’s not been enforced at times over the last few months
DH nearly got caught out this morning going in to St James Palace for a meeting |

Thanks all for the tip! After the end of a long journey with 4 kids, it’s the kind of thing we’d amend your doing. Will make sure we are paying attention to bus Lanes!
