A couple of years ago After a lot of 'kerfuffle' with the bar staff in Trader Sam's I managed to buy two drinks. One alcoholic for me (age 66) and one non alcoholic for DD (aged 33 and who doesn't drink alcohol as doesn't like it). The bar staff refused to believe she was under 21 and thought I was buying the alcoholic drink for her and as she didn't have her passport they had a staff member watching us the whole time we were in there to make sure she didn't have a sip of mine. I know they have to keep to the law and that is no problem but their manner and rudeness to me made sure we will not return there on our next visit.

Lots of mature Brits get caught out as they can't believe they will get carded as they are forty somethings or up not realising most places have an ID everyone policy regardless.
