End of May early June is the start of the rainy season. It can be very wet indeed like last year!

Hi next year will be our 8th time going the last two weeks of August (creature of habit). The weather is humid and hot but is bearable by drinking plenty of water , air con breaks and last time they were selling cloths you wet and put round your neck which did cool us down. The American children go back around the last week and does make a difference the queues. One year we had a Tropical storm which disrupted things for a couple of days but did reduce the humidity a lot. The last time we went it rained twice in 14 days , once for about 45 minutes and the last day 4 or 5 hours. I think they say it's usual for 30 mins a day but it soon dries out.

Not at all. If anything, the weather gives you an option to slow down a bit, we had a downpour at universal which was torrential, so we did some indoor rides and headed backwards to RPR for a chill, and went back out in the evening. One day it rained loads coz of the storm but we were all shattered so took the opportunity to have a lie in, and did some shopping. We're not all day park people anyway so we generally spend half days in the park with chilling in the morning and a park for the evening or the other way round. We went to Lanzarote last summer which was lovely but the heat was so intense and dry, there was no let up and no aircon, I much prefer the Florida heat! Especially because there is air con everywhere!

We are going again this year for the last 3 weeks in August, it is hot and humid, but can honestly say in the last two years we have had only a few rain showers that lasted 20 odd mins, will always go in August as won't take child out of school and we want to go for 3 weeks

Thank you everyone for the advice! We will probably swap if I can get a reasonable price with VH plus their amendment fee of course. Its about 1000 more but i'd have 3 extra months to pay it.

We always go the last two weeks in August (I'm a teacher so limited on choice) and yes it is humid and hot but it is manageable - lots of water and if i gets too hot, go back to the hotel for a swim and return to the park later. POFQ is an amazing resort and close to the park so its not too much trouble leaving the park and going back later when its cooler. Before becoming a teacher I have been at other times and August (the end) is our favourite time.
