When to book August flights?
Hi All,
Some advice please... Im looking at travelling around the 20th August 2019. when are flights likely to be at their cheapest for this time? Also, I can travel any day of the week, are some days flights more expensive? thanks Stuart |

I find Tues, Weds and Thursdays the cheapest days to fly.
There isn't really a 'cheapest' time to book as you never know what the airlines prices will be for the following year. Historically though the xmas sales have good prices. Having said that I booked our Aug/Sept 17 flights in Oct 16 for £450pp and that wasn't in the sale but a week later AA had a flash sale with direct to Tampa flights for £290pp so you really need to just keep looking everyday and book when you see a price you're happy with. Good luck! |

We booked in January 2018 with Netflights for Man-Lhr- Miami with the return via Madrid for £368, 20th Aug- 3rd Sept 2018. I've found travelling on a Monday for the last 2 years to be cheaper but it may be because we are coming back in the first few days of September.

Was looking last year for flights around the 20th August this year. I found a day or two after the flights were released were very good prices. I couldn't book as I needed to check with the travel company who I had already booked the hotel with, if I could shift the hotel dates slightly to match the flights. By the time I had done that the flights had gone up hundreds of pounds. I checked quite regularly but the prices were high up until about a week before Christmas when they dropped and stayed down until about a week after New Year's Day. They don't make it easy for you with prices changing several times a day. My advice would be to set the price in your head that you would be happy paying and then book as soon as you see that price. Be prepared to check several times a day especially around Christmas. Good luck.
