Your bags will be checked right through but the way Gatwick is set up you still need to go through security again. Follow the signs for flight connections but when we flew through Gatwick last year (first time since BA changes terminals) we still had to clear security again. Didn’t take long though but I would only book a lounge if you have 3 hours there. If you only have 2 I’m not sure it’s worthwhile as you should really be heading to the gate about an hour before your departure time and it was quite a walk to the gate.

Have a look at the Gatwick app to see what the choices are. Our youngest can be a bit fussy so we ended up having breakfast in Nando’s which we all enjoyed. Have a great holiday.

Also, where does your flight from Glasgow go to? If Gatwick, and it is on the same day, then yes, your bags will be checked through from Glasgow. If you fly into any other airport in London, or you have an overnight stopover, then you will have to collect your bags and re check them before your transatlantic leg. - not forgetting you will also have to get a transfer to Gatwick.
