Mobile BA upgrade WT to WT+

Curious to know what price people have paid to upgrade their seats from WT to plus.

LHR -MIA route.

Just quoted £795.20 each for MIA-LHR rtn leg.

To upgrade out/rtn they wanted £1352.26.

Pretty sure i read £100-250 on here usually.

You may have the cheapest fare class ticket which is non-upgradeable and so the price you've been quoted also includes the amount required to make your ticket upgradeable and then the actual upgrade to WT+. Why not do a dummy booking for WT+ on ba,com and see what the price is. You'll then be able to compare the quote given to you against what you've already paid.

TBh apart from the extra case I thought WT+ was a bit of a disappointment.

All BA cash public fares are upgradeable, the issue is the type of upgrade and in some cases the change fee attached to the original fare (it's not to make the ticket upgradeable, it would apply to any change).

The figures of £100-250 (per person, each way) generally apply to what BA calls Proactive Online UpGrades (POUGs). These are the "special offers" that appear in as banners in Manage My Booking on BA.com.

You will only see these before OLCI if you booked direct with BA, and will probably not see them at all if you have a connecting flight or return from a different city (BA IT limitations, apparently). You can be offered POUGs on the cheapest tickets.

If POUGs are not available, it's a regular cash upgrade, which will be the difference between what you paid for the first ticket and the price of the upgraded cabin on the day you make the change, plus any applicable change fee. This will usually be quite expensive, but can be a reasonable deal during sale periods, when the WTP price may not be much more (or even less) than you'd originally paid for WT.

Suffolk dad, that was a good deal, I fly three days after you and I was quoted £228 per pp on the outward leg this afternoon. I didn't accept.
