No boarding pass

Just checked us all in but no boarding pass available to download for DW on the LGW-MCO flight.
Extra security check for her?

Yes it will be fine, happened last year to hubby, just an extra check at the gate.

Yep, OP's DW will have SSSS on her airport-issued boarding card. To speed things up, make sure she gives whatever hand luggage she can over to someone else in the party to carry on at the gate - they will not be subject to the G4S gate-search.

This kind of sums it up, seriously what is the point of these, I’ve been checked every single time. Everyone knows what they are, everyone knows how to get around them. Just to remind you how dangerous the world is. </rant>

I agree 100%. Alerting someone who has been given SSSS who has bad intent will just make then bin the flight and try another day when they may get a boarding pass issued at online check-in with no problems.

The barcode on a home printed boarding pass is exactly the same as an airport one, irrespective of the SSSS. Just leave the latter off the boarding card [irrespective of where printed] and keep it completely random & unexpected at the gate to the passenger if you get pulled for secondary screening - that would actually improve security!

Got the same for tomorrow's gatwick to mco flight thomas cook,checked in online but unable to get boarding passes.

We had similar with our flights with BA, we couldn't download or print a boarding pass for our LGW-MCO leg as they just needed to see our passports at the airport. Dropped bags off at GLA and got issued with our boarding passes and no extea checks at the gate at LGW so its not always because you have been selected for extra checks at the gate.
