this is so so disapointing. i hope there are still some characters with photographers on our trip in february. We have so many photos that are just natural like when my son dressed as kristoff hugged anna while chatting. these will all be gone. eeither that or we miss the experience because we are taking those photos which always turn out rubbish in their lighting! all mine looked orange

It sounds like now it will just be one standard shot - none or the running to meet them or hugs etc.
Not quite - it does look like there will still be multiple shots if you read some of the articles

A box wiill have a fixed lens and position. So you will always get the shot from the same direction and you will not get any close ups. It will just be set to accomodate a group of people.
This is a crazy decision.

Really disappointed with this decision- so nice to be able to get ‘family ‘ shots without someone missing from key pictures by taking them. I really hope the quality of the automated pictures is as good as a photographer and will be complaining if any are blurred 😪

What is the best way to contact Disney and pass on our thoughts? I mean I know it probably won’t do anything, but I would like to pass on my feedback about how I feel about this change.

We have amazing photos from when our son first met Mickey and tickerbell and they wouldn’t not of been able to of been captured with a fixed position camera. I feel like what’s the point in at all if your going to make them automatic, I’ll just take pics with my own phone.

Isn't this only for indoor characters,I can't see how they can use a fixed camera for the outside meet and greets though!

There were hardly any photopass photographers when we were there last month! I was a bit disdopinted to be honest. At MK they only really had them obviously on Main Street, I saw a couple a day on AK days, Epcot was the worst, didn’t see any one day until we were on our way out of the park! HS had the most as far as I could see. Defo loads less around than when we went in 2016. 😔

I wonder if part of the reason is lost revenue from them making memory maker free with certain tickets?

They will phase out as much labour as possible as a cost saving measure. The Skyliner is designed to save on bus driver/ bus costs and cut congestion. Street performers going. The actors at Rivers of Light going. Even the talking Mickey isn't there now, some have alleged because it needed extra back room staff to operate. Why have a photographer interacting with guests, 'interpreting' for characters and making it a bit more magical when a machine can say 'Say cheese!'

Sorry to say it's a total waste of time. The furore of the parking charges achieved absolutely nothing.
