When we did this a few years a go we made sure the skip,had a lid so we locked it when we where not there

They are out of luck. No copper, just toys, old books, cut down tree, lots of cuddly toys, old videos/DVDs, stuff like that. The girls are 22 and 24 so cleaned out the toy room. We kept the good stuff to give to charity. Mind you, if they dug deep there are a few great toys like Barbie dolls and accessories all in good condition. Didn’t keep for charity as they are the old ones.

Someone would love the Barbies….my granddaughter loves them….but older ones sell well on eBay.

That type of skip is expensive!

I honestly can see what the problem is with people taking things out as long as they don't tip stuff over the road, surely it's better things get recycled than dumped in landfill.

I have got old dinky cars my grandchildren play with that came from a skip, my son has sanded down stained and recovered some 60s chairs that look fantastic.

My dad got me a fold up chair out of a skip 25 years ago, still have it.

As long as they don't leave a mess or use your skip then I don't see the harm.

Of course before anyone says I do understand that everything in a skip belongs to the skip company so it is stealing!

My mum and dad always get this when they have a skip and call the people that do it Wombles. I'd be more annoyed it someone added to a skip TBH.

Could have been a fox. I watched a fox raid a skip across the road from us recently.

I’ve still got some lovely Victorian chimney pots that I got from a skip. I did knock and ask if it was ok if I took them. The man loaded them into my car for me.
