I have always assumed that everyone just calls it pop.
What do people call it if they don’t call it pop ? And where are you from for that ?
Nobody in Liverpool uses pop. Years ago all fizzy drinks were referred to as lemo. Which was brought by the lemo man in my previous post - Alpine, Full Swing or Schofields aka schoeys

Ah, but I am from North London! Harrow (pronounced either ‘H-Arrow’ or ‘Arra’ depending on what part you were brought up

This week I asked a 20 year old in co op if they had any cornets
She looked blank ... ” you know cornets for ice cream ? “
“ oh you mean cones “
My teens already think I’m old for asking if they want a can of pop now it turns out cornet must be an old persons word too !

Do Northerners still drink that Dark Brown Lager that is ‘levered’ out of the barrel by barmaids possessing biceps like Arnie, or do they now drink the proper stuff?

Asking for a friend as I drink stuff made from Apples.

That may be the one.. or some of the Northern Lads that joined up with me called it Theakstons old P? It was dark brown and had no air in it.. sort of stagnant. Some also mentioned Burton on Trent.

I’ve always called them cones and I’m no spring chicken! Again it may depend on where you live.

Try asking for a wafer for your ice cream - cafes and ice cream shops just don’t seem to do them!
