Thomas cook?
So we have just booked to go next year (September) flying with TC.. my husband just msged me saying if they are gonna go bust? Does anyone have an update on what the situation is like now?

They are currently in talks with their biggest shareholders fosun for a 750 million investment which should help them steady the ship, the talks are at the advanced stage and should be finalised by October!Fosun have big plans for the holiday company, the airline is profitable so could be sold or remain part owned by Thomas Cook and other investors and Fosun!

The issue was with the travel agency, not the airline.
The airline was to be sold to let the travel agency side invest, some short sellers tried to put 2+2 together to push their share price down and make money.

 So it looks like Fosun will put in £450m in return for at least 75% of the tour business and 25% of the group's airline whilst TC's lending banks and bondholders will contribute a further £450m for 75% of the airline and 25% of the tour operator business. Good news for the company (but bad news for shareholders).
