Cruise - Hotel Southampton
We are, hopefully, cruising out of Southampton next May and I wondered if anyone had any recommendations for a hotel the night before?
Many thanks

We stayed near birmingham was an hour drive next day so not to bad. Was just a travelodge. Sufficient enough for us.
Sailed on the Indipendance of the seas... so want do again next year. Only time cruised and loved it. |

It took you an hour to drive from Birmingham to Southampton?!?!
Premier Inn is right by West Quay shopping centre, cinema, restaurants, bowling etc. Holiday Inn, Ibis and Novotel very close too. There's also a Travelodge but has limited parking. More upmarket are the Grand Harbour (Leonardo) and the Southampton Harbour Hotel.

Which cruise terminal are you going from ? We’ve done cruises from the royal carribean / celebrity cruises terminal and stayed at Leonardo hotel which was fine. (A little run down inside but that might have changed). We had booked this year for the Holiday inn which is right next to the cruise terminal but we had to cancel the room.

We drive down to Southampton and have stayed in Premier Inns at Southampton airport and one on the northern outskirts (Romsey Rd). We also like to stay at the PI at Newbury and then drive the 50mins to the port next day.

We always stay at the Premier Inn at West Quay.
It is opposite a shopping centre, Showcase cinema and lots of restaurants. It is less than 5 minutes drive from the port. |

Ooh I’m not sure but it’s a celebrity cruise! I’ve just been looking at the Leonardo too.

Another question do you park at the hotel and drive to the port on the day of the cruise? Or just park at the port when you drive down - day before?
