Exchange rate
I am going Apr/May 22... the dollar exchange rate just now is about 1=1.365. Would anyone get some dollars just now or hold off... I'm undecided😳

How much are you planning on spending? It's $1.38 today on Revolut and I'd exchange when you are there next year hopefully at $1.4 to $1.45.

I wouldn't bother, it doesn't seem like a particularly attractive rate to lock in.

I agree, a benchmark for us is $1.40/£1 and we generally base our calculations around this figure.

$1.45 is 'nice' in the current climate, $1.50 would be wonderful!

$2.00/£1 would be 1990's all over again

In summary I'd sit tight

$1.5 makes for easier maths...

Tend to do that as well. Stops we thinking about the exchange rate and allows me just to think how much I have to spend and not what price I paid for it.

Yes think I will wait, I will get the holiday paid up first by Sep/Oct then pile in the spending money... I'm not taking anymore than 4k dollars as its just me and DS 1&2 and they are only 10 and 12 so no interest in shopping but they are interested in eating😂😂😂

I've only taken as much as 3 or 4k previously when I was with their mum and older 2 brothers and still managed to bring back loads of shopping.
