Back up holiday?

I hate to be thinking this way as am really trying to stay positive for our October trip, but we’re starting to look at back ups.

Planning to keep our annual leave & house/dog sitters in place & book somewhere that’s green (!) at the last minute.

With things changing so rapidly I don’t feel we can do anything other than mental planning at the moment, but it’s nice to be looking at holidays again, even if they are pontential WDW replacements.

Anyone else thinking along these lines?

100% this

Original plan was NYC and Florida (not WDW) but we will book something the week or a few days before to a green country and have a fab time there.

We just had a wonderful time in Mallorca and while it’s not Florida it was amazing.

We are thinking the same now, we have a couple of ideas but will see what’s green closer to the time.

This is my plan also.

We are due to go Florida 10th September but not hopeful unfortunately .

We are going to wait until the Traffic light review on the 26th August and then book either a green or amber country. I really fancy Greece so am keeping everything crossed they are still amber.

We are also only planning to do a week if we go to an Amber country, on the basis that we will travel back on the 17th or 18th September. There should be a further review on the 16th, which I am hoping any changes made on this won't be implemented until 4am on the 20th September. That was the time frame with the Balaerics.

We’ve just booked a Disney Magic at Sea 3 night cruise as a backup. The rest of the time we will spend at home and some day trips, etc.

Would still prefer to go to Florida for 2 weeks but it’ll definitely cushion the blow if it gets cancelled!

We have 19 nights in October that should be in california but we have said worst case we book the first 7 nights somewhere and even if they turned amber plus we have enough time to isolate when we get back. Would love to go to Mexico if we can.

I am the same. Booked for November, probably not a lot of other choice then as I want nice weather wherever I go. But my plan is to hold out and if holiday with B.A gets cancelled 5 weeks or so before, I will hopefully have somewhere else to go. Time will tell. Covid has taught me I have no patience and
do not like not being able to plan!

We are also thinking a last minute trip somewhere 'green' if we can't go to Florida! We have dogs/cats booked and paid for, and holiday booked off work etc so hopefully something will fit in with our dates? We have 21 days to play with so🤞🤞.
