Any single parent with a toddler trip reports out there?

Hubby is on a course in Feb and as he doesn't fancy going back to DLP anytime soon, im considering taking Edith on my own for a midweek break. Am I crazy?

Has anyone done similar?

I don't think you're crazy at all! I did many solo trips with my Eldest (albeit never wrote a trip report) when she was young and they were some of the best trips I ever did.

Aww! I considered doing this too as my hubby also not fussed ... how were you planning to get there? I think convenience would be key, I.e. Eurostar, on-site hotel etc.
I think it’s a lovely idea, but set expectation for the trip. When they nap ,nice opportunity to have a peaceful break with a coffee etc.

I would say do it!

Not crazy at all but as jadepansy said set your own expectations. I would stay onsite so you can have a break in the afternoon if needed and can easily get to the parks. It would be a lovely memory for you having your own time there.

Thanks guys. We would fly from BHX and stay at the Sequoia Lodge as that's where we have stayed before. I'm really tempted to book but it's just a bit daunting as i'm so used to going as a family of three.

It's the small things I guess, making my way through the airport / train station with all the bags, Edith & a pushchair.

The luggage aspect worried me at first too but you'd be surprised how people will offer to help you when they see you're alone. The first time I went I put baby in a carrier and then put our holdall and any other bags on the buggy and pushed that.

Wow this would be amazing! I would never even consider it with whirlwind Charlie, but I reckon you and Edith would have the most brilliant girls trip!

I'm taking my 19 month old next week on my own (single parent) so I'll let you know how it goes if you want, but I'm sure it'll be fine! I'm not too worried, just new ways of doing things

Hello, have a look at my trip reports. I've been taking my two boys on my own since the youngest was 2. It's great fun! The best advice is to pace yourself and take loads of breaks.
