Beijing and HK Nov 2019 - Day 12

Today we started the day with our buffet breakfast. Today there were has browns, so I had some of them with eggs and ham.

We then took the metro up to Wong tai sin temple. Unfortunately it was under maintenance, but we made sure we chose the right camera angles to get some decent photos.

I was impressed with the statues in the main temple, they were of the different horoscopes dressed in typical Chinese robes. They were pretty different to your normal statues at temples.

We then decided to walk to Nan Lian gardens. Again, under maintenance. They were mostly clearing out the water here, so nothing to spoil the photos.

Once we had wondered around we got the metro back to the hotel to get a coffee. We then decided at 5ish to go to temple street, looking at the maps nothing was going on over there this evening. It was very quiet and I read reviews that the vendor can be in your face, we didn’t see this at all. I purchased my mum a purse and Chris got some of his older nieces and nephews so key rings to go on their school backpacks. I think the purse was 10hkd and the key rings for a pack of 6 were 30hkd.

We walked back down to the water front to grab some dinner. Round the corner from our old hotel was a noodle place we spotted earlier in the week. We thought we would try it. It’s called Fu-unmaru. The other night it was packed and had a queue outside. Tonight, pretty much empty. It was ok, I was a huge fan of the stock the noddles came in, too fishy for me. But the pork was nice.

We walked along Nathan road and Mody road, the roads our hotel was down, this is the scene still from 2 nights ago. There were in the process of clearing up with big grabby trucks still.

We then walked to avenue of stars as it was quarter to 8 and the harbour light show was on at 8. We sat on one of the benches to watch the show. If you are then, then it’s probably worth a watch. Nothing I would make an effort to watch if there was something else on.

It was a warm evening, so we grabbed the ferry back for a bit of breeze. Now we are packing the last little bits to head to check in at Disney tomorrow. We plan to go up the big Buddha tomorrow and leave our luggage at Disney for the day. Excited to see a different Disney at Christmas time!
