Universal normal park opening time on an early entry day?

We have AP's for Universal but there's no early entry for pass holders over Christmas

Both parks open for early entry to hotel guests at 7am (everyone else 8am) so what time do you think other people will be let in? On a normal day with no early entry, park opens around 8.30/8.40am for a 9am start, so would that be the same on an early entry day or would we not be allowed in until 9am on the dot? Or 8am in this case over Christmas.

Trying to plan the least hideous day and time to visit for a few hours.

You can go into the park earlier, so I'd advice gettign there before 'normal' opening. In IOA they stop people from entering the Hulk/Spiderman area at the bridge until opening. They also stop those in HP going towards Jurassic. So if going early just get in before normal opening and wait by the 'rope drop' area and you will have the same chance of riding first as real early entrees.

In Universal, you can still go through the barriers before normal entry.

I can only recall US and IOA opening at the scheduled times, not early.

The gates are unable to restrict anyone from entering early because hotel guests with early entry often only have normal tickets, so they let everyone in and then in the park past set points tewy ask you to show your room key or annual pass to continue.

SO those with normal access only can miss the crowd at the gate, enter the parks and then wait for the official opening, where they will allow access to all parts of the park, as even with early entry they restrict access to parts of the parks, as rides are not open. ie No entry to Jurrasic or Avengers areas in IOA.

Thanks, that will be good to at least get through the gates to the restricted area before normal entry time, saves a bit of time. Will aim to get there around 15 minutes before normal opening time
