There’s not really anything to wriggle out of. Fastpass won’t exist next year so there’s no way of providing it. Unfortunately they can’t honour something which no longer exists.
And as mentioned earlier, changes to the “ancillary benefits” of the Ultimate passes beyond their core element of park entrance will be provided for in the T&C’s. I did say to Mrs P last night, if I’d been booked to go next year, I’d be fuming now. I particularly feel for those that booked years ago for on-site trips that have been cancelled due to Covid who are getting nothing like what they were expecting.

I’m assuming they’ll offer you the chance to switch to another attraction and/or time slot, but if there’s nothing suitable available then they’ll have to refund, which is normally anything up to 5 working days to go back via your card.

Disney+ is a different part of the business. It comes under the "Disney Media and Entertainment Distribution" division. Whereas the parks come under the "Disney Parks, Experiences and Products" division. Each division will have it's own targets to meet and it's own profits to make. They are, in a way, different companies that happen to be part of the same overall group.
So, Disney+ might be a goldmine but this doesn't help the Disney parks recoup their losses.

You still have to decide which park you want to go to each day and book park reservations, which can be done 12 months+ in advance! Or you wait and see what's available on the day/nearer the time. I'm guessing most people will still do this a few months out, so no real difference there. Before there was a purpose as you booked fastpasses, now there's no real purpose other than helping Disney work out their staffing levels for each park.

Ability to book FPs at 40ish tier 2 attractions, in the next available slot, each day that you hold the pass. That's it.
Oh, and some photo filters. Therefore they're still providing a service even if no rides are available. Edited at 11:52 AM. |

Just cancelled our 10 night stay at CBR next May. It's already been moved three times now and the holiday is nothing like what we originally booked and even more expensive, so sent a cancellation email this morning. We still have a 4 nights complimentary stay which we'll keep but we'll stay off-site for the rest of the stay. Line drawn now!
