Accommodation for 1 month stay?
We're looking to potentially stay a month in the Orlando area next August. I need somewhere offsite that has a full kitchen and at least 3 bedrooms. I don't want to have to pay for daily parking or any resort fees.
We’ve ruled out a villa. Last time we stayed in one we both just thought it felt a bit soulless. We’d much prefer to be on a resort with stuff going on. We’d like a water park with zero entry pool for the kids if possible. I've looked at Orange Lake but feel that would be too spread out for us & looks a bit dated now. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you!

I’d look for a private villa or condo rental.
I had a booking for Encantada for last summer which was unfortunately cancelled. But it looked nice. |

Windsor Hills has condos, villas and Townhomes, there is one advertised here on The Dibb, I have stayed there and did a review, highly recommended. The TH’s have a small splash pool. The community pool is zero entry and there is a good play area for kids. The resort is gated and there is plenty of parking.
The condos are roomy, we stayed in a 3 br, but the balcony is quite small. |

Sheraton vistana villages has 1,2 and 3 beds apartments. Lovely spacious grounds. Free parking, no resort fees and is gated.

I'm sure when we looked into the Grove Resort I saw somewhere that the resort fee was capped at a certain number of nights? I can't find where now, but maybe someone who has stayed there can confirm?
Next year we are staying at Club Wyndham Bonnet Creek, condos with kitchens, free parking, lazy river etc. |

It never seems to be obvious when conducting an initial search, but longer stays in some AirBnBs often apply a discount rate when you click through having done a date-specific search.
So, my first port of call would be finding a few places there, clicking through the search results and seeing if any apply a long-stay discount when you do. |

I'd prefer to book through a TA just for added security. This pandemic has made me more cautious when booking anything now.

Good to know. I've just seen on Travel Republic that it's capped at 5 nights so that's good 👍🏼
I've stayed at Bonnet Creek before but not for a long time. It's lovely though and in a fab location. Did you book through a TA or timeshare agent?

Thank you, I never think to use AirBnB after years of using Homeaway which has now merged with VRBO. Just a bit concerned that we wouldn't have the same protection as we would with booking through a TA. I just worry that something else covid related could happen and scupper our future plans where we'd lose our money 😣

Most properties now have very good cancellation terms due to Covid, and you can filter for these specifically in search results.
I don't doubt some people have had bad AirBnB experiences, but we've never had a bad one, including several in Orlando and elsewhere in Florida. Good luck finding somewhere that works for you! |
