By the time we’d explored the resort for a bit, then unpacked and chilled out it was time for dinner.

This was our first visit to the new expanded version of Beaches n Cream.

Guiness

Bowl of chili

Reuben with cheesy bacon tots

Grilled cheese with tomato soup

A bit different to The Palm’s offerings but I really enjoyed mine and P reckoned it was the best grilled cheese she’s ever had.

Service was great too.

That meatball was a thing of beauty, I almost went with the Nueske bacon but decided to try one of the new items. Good decision I reckon

A touch on the mild side compared with my usual recipe but yeah it went down well with the side of guiness

The food at Beaches and Cream looks good but the pour on that Guinness bothers me

Trying to snag an ADR there but it still alludes us.

That's a view you'll never tire of at BC.

Nice that you were able to catch up with Chris & Brian.

Slacking a bit here, got a day behind

We were out and about and called in Applebees for lunch

French onion soup

It won’t win ‘soup of the trip’ award but it was perfectly ok.

Quesadilla burger

Supposed to sub fries for Mac and cheese but ended up with both

Cheeseburger

Both burgers were cooked as requested and were moist and tasty, service good too.

I really need to try French onion soup. Where have you had the best one?

So far this trip Bec, '71. In the past The Palm and Shula's have turned out good ones too.

Seems to be a steakhouse thing, they are more likely to use beef stock base (it's veg in the classic French recipe) so you get a deeper flavour.
