Touring Plans - anyone used recently?
I’ve just subscribed to TP and trying to get my head around it all!
We’re in Disney from Thursday 19 May, checking out on Monday 30 May to head to Universal for 4 nights, so we have 11 nights at Disney with Memorial weekend towards the end of our visit. I’ve read that Memorial weekend is very busy so have planned DC for the Saturday, a resort day on the Sunday the we move to Portofino Bay on the Monday so will have express passes for our time at universal. The Friday of Memorial weekend I’d originally planned a day at Seaworld, but Touring Plans is suggesting Hollywood Studios will be a crowd level of 4, which seems low to me. I’d planned to go the HS on the Tuesday of that week but TP puts it as a CL 6. This would be our second day at HS and we’re planning to go at about 2 or 3pm and stay till close. Would you go with what Touring Plans suggests? I know they may not be as accurate as previous years due to covid so has anyone used it recently to confirm if it’s still fairly reliable? I just expected HS to be busier on a Friday especially given the holiday. Thanks 😊 |

I don't think the crowd calendar section is that accurate at the moment, too much historic data in the system. Crowd patterns have changed massively. FWIW, I was at HS on a crowd level 4 day last month and it was busy.
Also TP calculates the crowd level based on averaged wait times. So in parks like HS where everyone is pretty much at 1 or 2 attractions, it ends up weighting lower overall than it actually feels in the park. This is how October 1st ended up getting ranked as a level 1 crowd day at MK, even though it was wall to wall people. No one was on the rides. |

Thanks for this, would you keep HS to the Tuesday then? The Tuesday is showing CL 7!

I would also just do what suits you - I don't think crowd predictions are accurate enough to change your plans for. We're going to be there at a similar time and I've made no special plans...I keep reading that Memorial Day is not one of the biggest holidays so hopefully we'll get lucky and won't be too impacted!

Hi, is touringplans still accurate? The free version on their website lets me put in the rides I want and it comes up with a timed plan for both Disney and Universal.
Earscouts on youtube has a slightly different agenda for the same rides. Is there any feedback which is better? |

I put all of the crowd calendar data from Touring Plans onto my spreadsheet and I have the Friday before Memorial Day week as a 7 on the crowd calendar for Hollywood Studios? It doesn’t go below 6 my entire trip

I’ve been when crowd levels were above 7 all week and it wasn’t that bad! You might need genie+ for some parks.
