Ice Breaker POV

SeaWorld has just released a new POV video, ahead of the Feb 18 opening of their new Ice Breaker ride, and it is pretty awe-inspiring!

We will also be there next week for the full media preview, so hopefully we'll have some more video to share

Looks good, but like Tigress, this backwards and forwards lark at the start leads to slow loading times.

Disappointed this is a boomerang as didn’t realise that before but sure it’ll be good.

It’s slightly different to Tigress though in that it features a switch track. That moves the train from the station to the main track (the end of the ride returns back to to the station as a normal coaster. This means it can run multiple trains. While one is on the circuit another will be loading in the station. Rather than tigress which goes back and forth through the station so can only run one train.

The idea was it’s more of a family thrill coaster with lower height restriction. It was designed to be a step up coaster for younger guests that might not be ready/tall enough to ride the 3 big coasters (manta, mako and kraken) the park where missing a coaster at this level.

I agree it looks very boring, was expecting it to be like Tigris which is abit crazy but no loops etc!
What I can’t understand is how my daughter who’s 7 can go on a ride like velocicoaster and not on any of the rides at SeaWorld which are very tame compared to that lol
Good to see SeaWorld adding new rides though, love that place!

What is it with rides having to go backwards now, I’m useless with that so can’t ride them

I loved Sea World when I was there in the 1990s. The focus was on the marine life, the only ride was Wild Arctic. Now it's just a theme park which happens to have some marine life. Not for me.

I love coasters but hate going backwards, I’ll have to make sure I take a large dose of Dramamine 🤢
