I received 1 e-mail with 'order confirmed' and then a confirmation number in there. If I logon onto the disneyworld page and then go to 'magicbands' all the way at the bottom. It automatically shows the magicband order with for each magicband status 'active' and a number next to it.
But in MDE they do not show.

Thanks for the TunnelBear suggestion, he’s so cute!
Had a look but not many on there, around 12?
Weird that it seems to change daily almost .

They seem to take a while to load - wait a few minutes and then refresh the page.

I didn’t check yesterday but most days this week there were 38 or so to choose from.

How much are magic bands nowadays? We have ones from 2019 somewhere in the house but if we can't find them then we'll buy new ones as they make life so much easier.

$20 for plain, up to $50 or more for the limited edition ones. If staying onsite, it's worth checking through MDE to get the pre-order discount.

We looked at this tonight on my wife’s login. She has logged into mde and selected me and chosen a magic band with my name on. It is not taking her anywhere to select payment etc on. It is not showing on my login either. Do we have to book hers and mine before it fulfils the order?

Yes you have to order or select that you don't want a band for each person in Party before you can pay. Beware though as you can't subsequently go back and order for anyone you decline for. You only get one chance at preorder discount prices. I found this out the hard way!
