Edit a time lapse in iMovie - help!

Quite a while ago now, I recorded a short time lapse video on my iPhone (lasts about 20 secs) on how to navigate a service road at Tebay northbound services, to reach some Tesla chargers on the southbound side. I share it on Facebook Tesla group when people ask how to get to them.

You need to watch it a few times to see the places to turn on the road etc , but it is better than nothing.

I then went to in store Apple class on iMovie editing (said it was some time ago!) and learnt how to edit the video to “pause it” and add some text on screen for a few seconds to show a bit better, where turns or other bits of useful info was inserted.

I learnt how to do it but then with pandemic / life I never got round to doing the whole clip.

Guess what, I want to do it now but it has all disappeared from my memory!

Any tips on how I can pause the video for X seconds and add text there that stays on screen for Y seconds?

Think you mean split the clip up?

You can then add a transition or title between clips.
