Arrow Xmas donations

I always donate to my local kids toy drive and noticed this year their cut off date is earlier than usual - next week to allow them extra time to sort & deliver in case any restrictions are imposed

My local food bank are also asking if you are planning to donate for Xmas to do so as soon as possible as they tend to get lots of last minute donations On the 23rd/24th but Xmas packages are usually given out the week running up to Xmas

many many people are still really struggling so Thank you to anyone who donates anything

I am going to buy some selection boxes to drop into the food bank box at the supermarket this week. I am also going to buy some doggy bits for the Christmas Doggie boxes given out by Trusty Paw charity to homeless people and their dogs.

We always use all our shop reward points (Morrisons, Sainsbury's, Boots etc) collected throughout the year to get items for the food bank, and do a big shop for them as well. The need is going to be even greater this year.

We did a full trolley shop at Tesco a couple of weeks ago as we like to put the chocolate advent calendars in .
We also did the Dunelm Christmas tree appeal , we dropped them back in store on Monday
It’s good to give even if only a little 🙏🏻

I have donated to my usual charity and last week Daves Park Run collected for Trussell Trust. The local hairdresser dies the Toy Drive
I am terrible at remembering to get stuff for the food collections in Tesco but have been slightly put off by a few stories of abuse. How the hell you can take food meant for people genuinely in need I do not know but I am afraid it happens.

We also have an excellent local charity that goes into London to feed the homeless, I really like that one. (Dave has provided some nice warm clothes to them but he doesn't know it. )

Our local Trussell food bank produced a “12 Days of Christmas” list at the beginning of Nov. It’s a good idea, reduce the risk of ending up with dozens of tins of custard but only one Christmas pud !

I have donated to both Crisis and Centre Point cash to both
Instead of sending Xmas cards this year I have donated to Combat Stress, very close to our hearts as our DS has PTSD.

Such a hard time of year for so many 😕 We need to count our blessings with what we have.

Jane
