When should I upgrade my Universal 14 day to AP?

Hi,

We are going in December & using our 14 day tickets for the first time on 20th.

If I upgrade to an AP to get discounts & free parking on 20th, will the AP blackout dates then apply (Dec. 22-31, 2018), so I won't be able to go again after 21st?

Anyone else ever upgraded during a blackout period?

Thanks,

Michelle

You will need to get an annual pass without blockout dates or update at the end of you holiday (which obviously means you won't get discounts and free parking) or you won't be able to visit 22-31

In order to get free parking and food/merchandise discounts you will need to get a Preferred or Premier Annual Pass. Neither of these have any blackout dates, so you will be fine to use them.

However, if you were thinking of upgrading to the cheaper Seasonal Annual Pass, then the blackout dates will apply as soon as you upgrade. Also, you'll still have to pay for parking and won't get any discounts on food and merchandise (you will get discounts on on-site hotel rooms though).

In short, you only get free parking & discounts on the Preferred and Premier passes and these don't have any blackout dates.

Thank you.

I have already bought 3 park 14 day passes as I didn't think we would be going back.

We always like to stay in a Universal hotel and I've just read the free parking doesn't cover that, so that's no use to us.

I think I need 4 Seasonal passes once we've finished visiting Universal at Christmas.
