We're doing another August trip this year as we usually go the final 2 weeks. Crowds usually aren't too bad but I can't say I've noticed a difference between the August weather and September/October weather to be honest. It's hot & humid but still the best holiday you can have.

I echo this, have already got a chilly pad in my amazon wishlist. We have only been in Easter and seen rain once, it almost feels like we are missing out on the true Florida weather!

I am also going to be an August first timer this year (dont May twice, June September and October), will stock up on ponchos - I get the thin, lightweight ones in poundland, and chill towels. Already decided to let the hair grow so it can be tied back - either that or go with the electrocuted look due to humidity

It’s safe to say I’m looking forward to August now. Cold towels and ponchos at the ready. 😉

Let’s talk ponchos!
So you don’t take one each, you take loads?
Do your children wear them? Or do they take a pac-a-mac?
Thanks

We’ve had to give up our beloved Easter trips for August now that eldest DD is at high school ☹️. I did my research on here first and found out that the second half of the month is quieter due to US schools going back, so our holiday is 11th August to 1st September. To be fair, we’ve found the parks really crowded at Easter in the past so I’m hoping we’ll actually find it quieter this year.

Weather is the main concern, but what can you do? We used to go in the summer holidays when I was a child so I remember those mid afternoon thunder storms but we’ve had a real mixed bag of weather in April and May and it sounds like August has been the same over the past few years, so I guess we’ll have to just wait and see. The likelihood of hotter temperatures and more rain was one of my main reasons for booking three weeks instead of two, so we can take it at a slower pace with more pool time and opportunities to postpone things if the weather isn’t kind to us.

Good to see there’ll be lots of Dibbers out there at the same time as us though .

Now, best get researching those chill towels and ponchos... .

Moosha, that’s why we chose three weeks. We knew things would get rained off and that afternoons would be too hot for the kids. So we will go at a slower rate with more pool time.
We’re going 6-28
