We've been in August 2014 and 2016 and are going back in 2018. It is hot - but not unbearably so and Disney do a really good job of managing the climate. Most of the rides have you queuing either in AC or in the shade. The only time we really noticed it was when we staked out a spot ahead of the parades.
The rain can be quite spectacular - I actually really like it. In the two years we've been we have only had one afternoon rained off. You can buy cheap ponchos ahead of time or in Walmart. They sell them in the parks too of course - higher quality but much more expensive. In terms of the crowds there is a very noticeable drop-off in the last 2 weeks in August as the US kids go back to school. The last few days of the month are great - virtually no queues ! You'll have a great time ! |
