Bye Bye Illuminations

This used to be my favourite show but it’s time for a change. We’ve been visiting since 2001 and it’s never changed. I think it’s time to move forward.

We love it, it brings back so many lovely memories for me of early trips to disney with dh and our honeymoon and still makes me cry. Its still our must see fireworks and a car sing along cd.

Also my 10 year old is outraged as he loves it and knows it as well as we do. We are not back at disney till 2019.

We have never seen this in all our trips , always intended to but something always cropped up!
Wanted to make sure we saw it this time so have an 8pm reservation at Rose & Crown hoping for an outside table.
Fingers crossed we will see it in May 🤞

It's been running 18 years since 1st October 1999 so I reckon it's time for a change. I'm sure that Disney will come up with something equally spectacular.

My friend text me this last night - gutted! My favourite fireworks show on property. It's beautiful, emotive and timeless and I'm so sad to see it go. I hope I get to see it one last time in May.

Oh no, this is so sad. We had our dessert party in Epcot after our wedding and watched Illuminations with our guests, it'll always be special to us. I really wanted DD to see Illuminations too

I found it a bit disappointing. But maybe because I remember the previous one before it changed in 99. Was much better in my opinion.

Geoff, what was it before it changed? I much preferred it. April 1999 was the trip before our 2016 one so I was a bit disappointed when it wasn’t what I’d remembered. It’s always been called immuniations though hasn’t it?

My last visit was 1997 so it looks like I won't get to see it at all if it finishes before I go in September.
