Standard socks - go few inches up your shin

Trainer socks - stop at your ankle bone

No show/liner socks - below ankle and just about cover your back heel

You’ll probably want trainer socks

I swear by my tried and well worn in Crocs (with no socks of course)! They are superbly comfortable and absolutely perfect for wet rides. Sans squelch! Maybe not the most attractive fashion wise but for sheer practicality they can't be beaten.

DH wears light trainers with trainer socks that you can't see, and leather flip flops (no socks ) - he's never had a blister or problem.
