Downtown Disney check in can be quite tricky when travelling alone with a lot of luggage as there are no trolleys or porters and there is a big road to cross. I would stick to the airport and use the porters there to help. Just make sure your luggage is secure during the day.

You'll be fine at the airport. You park opposite a trolley bank. Leave the car loaded, go and get a trolley and take your time. There were porters everywhere last month if required.

It was much easier when we dropped the car off only our hand luggage to manage.
We are planning on doing the Downtown Virgin check-in tomorrow. When we are heading for the airport do we aim for Car Rental drop-offs or something? Can anyone give me a clue where we aim for please? We're flying with Virgin. Cheers

I would double check this, unless its changed we did Downtown Disney checkin with kids 2 years ago, we took the buggys and car seats to the airport and checked them in later. Has this changed?

Interesting! Not sure if it's changed or not but I emailed Virgin the question a while back and that was what they told me. Have decided not to risk it in case they won't accept the car seat later (what would I do with it? ).

Thanks for everyone's help/advice. I ended up parking right next to the trolleys so decided to make my own way to check in and it was pretty straight forward!
