Just to add my threpence as we were there a few weeks ago.

When you get off the plane follow signs for Ground Transportation, it is clearly marked. Once at Ground Transportation level, you will see all the car hire desks. To get to the Alamo garage you go straight out through the doors, across the road and into the Alamo parking lot on the ground floor of the multi storey building. Once into Alamo there is a manned desk which will direct you to what type of car you have booked.

Right, rewind. I got to the Alamo desk and noticed it was free. I had a single sheet Alamo save time with me (with barcode). Whether I should or not, or me being over cautious, I thought I would just go up to the Clerk and show my save time print off. I just said "am I ok to go straight to the garage with this?" - She took a quick look and said that I need a rental agreement to go with it, so she did a few bits on the computer and handed it back and sent me on my way.

Now if I'm not mistaken (you get a full rental agreement when you do OLCI, but not when you do savetime).

We then picked a car (Mid Sized SUV) fitted our car seat, set up the sat nav and followed signs for the exit. At the exit is a manned barrier. They asked for my rental agreement and credit card, and I think my license. They then scanned something on the car (sticker in the window) and raised the barrier. We were on our way.

Was the CC scan for the additional charges (Sunpass etc)?

sounds about right.

checking my emails once i did OLCI i have an email with the barcode which says "show this to the booth agent"

and then underneath has all the reservation details like type of car, whats included, extra drivers, card information etc so i assume thats what you got from the lady after you showed her the savetime barcode and rest of the paper work

Possibly yes as i had taken the tank of fuel offer. We never went through a sunpass, just paid cash, but im sure it would have been debited if we had.

I also got stung $7 dollars plus tax on my return for the privledge of returning the vehicle at the airport. Couldnt be bothered to argue the toss whether or not it was warranted.

Now, I'm back to being confused again. I only have the single sheet. Others have posted that you go straight to the garage and they will print the rental agreement at the gate when they scan the car. However, you are saying that I have to go to the desk. I have done OLCI as well as savetime and the OCLI only gave me the single sheet as well and not the full rental agreement.

Not entirely certain what time I will be saving if I have to go and queue anyway?

and this is why there is no guide, because its not clear what you need or dont need we have all posted different results.

I have printed everything so as far as im concerned i should be able to pick the car and leave.

I have always got a rental agreement at the gate when you have to produce your Credit card,Licence and Savetime. But Alamo should have sent you one in an Email when you booked in is 5 or 6 pages long.Your prepaid rental voucher page 2 is terms and conditions.
