Drivers In Florida Are Mental!
This is my third time driving in Florida, and it has definitely been the most intense.
Honestly I doubt many of the people here would pass a UK driving test! The vast majority don't even signal and just switch lane's, under take and my single biggest pet hate... Someone sitting right behind you on the outside lane, and I mean RIGHT behind, one guy today any closer would have been in my boot! It can be very dog eat dog, don't hesitate I ve found is the best way, just barge your way in, everyone else does. I am in a Ford Explorer SUV, and it's a dream to drive, but it really can be like wacky race's out there sometimes! |

Hahaha, yep that sounds about right! The under-taking thing though is totally acceptable out there. Coming out from the theme parks early evening reminds me of wacky races

Not signaling is normal, as is undertaking. If someone is behind you in the outside lane, move over if you can and let them past. It usually isn't that bad. Definitely not like driving in the UK though.

sounds about right but Remember that it is not illegal in the United States to “undertake” on the freeways, by undertake I mean overtaking on the inside or right hand side. Be prepared for cars coming at you from all sides!
Drivers going 10 mph slower than the speed limit who don’t get out of the way of approaching vehicles can be ticketed $60 and hit with a 3-point moving violation,

The legal undertaking is something I always have to remind myself about, having said that I drive 30 miles and back up the A14 every day and notice that undertaking is becoming more common here.

Any why should they pass a UK driving test when they live and drive in another country?
It must be so frustrating living there and finding your roads clogged with UK drivers using the lane systems incorrectly, not stopping at signs, overtaking school buses and randomly flashing their headlights |

I could have written this myself, word for word, and it was our third trip too!
We definitely noticed it, and the speed people drive seems much faster too, the I4 was terrible, causing delays as people zipped in to small gaps between cars then braked hard, causing everyone else to brake and coming to a standstill at times. We had a couple of very scary moments when cars would just come out of nowhere, then you'd watch as they weaved through all four lanes in front of you. Coming back to the M25 actually seemed good for a change

I`ve driven in Florida 4 times and have always found it ok must be because i`ve spent many happy days driving around london and birmingham not to mention coventry's lovely inner ring road, i actually find driving in florida more relaxing except last time when i got pulled for not moving over a lane because a police car was parked on the verge, just got a friendly lecture on the rules of the road

its very different for sure, we have only noticed that I4 can be a bit bonkers around rush hour times, the other roads not so bad. Im not sure its the driving that's changing or if the roads are just so much more congested now, and with I4's ever expanding waistline, we notice a difference every time we travel there.
