Sit down meal - Alton towers

We've got a 2 day ticket for April and staying a couple of nights in a premier Inn so will just make use ofmtheir 'kids eat free' breakfast. Would like to have a sit down meal at tea time, maybe in the park or close by. Any suggestions? And will we able to book ahead of time. Thanks

There used to be a pizza/pasta place that was good. Theres obviously the rollercoaster cafe but I think thats more novelty factor over food quality.

Limited options in the park really and the park shuts at 5pm (if during easter hols) meaning would struggle for sit down meal at tea time. Only real option after this time outside the staying at their hotels is the roller coaster restaurant (other sit-downs are the pizza/pasta buffet and woodcutters (typical pub style menu), but in reality would have to go to these two earlier in the day than at tea time, which would eat into your park time, plus food prices are expensive, for not great quality. For a sit-down meal I would eat outside of the park at a local pub for example. Which premier inn are you stopping at?

The food is not great as usual at theme parks over priced and unlike the orlando and European parks (where now so many different options now available) UK theme parks still stuck in the 90's where they think only options people want at a theme park are junk food (burgers, hot dogs etc) with limited variety.

Edited at 01:39 PM.

There are a few pubs in Alton, only about 5 minutes or so outside the park. We had a lovely meal in the Bulls Head. I wouldn’t be eating the awful food in the park itself.

The Talbot in Alton does great meals and has nice outdoor sitting areas if the weather is good.

Thank you 😊 I tried the bulls head and another one but unfortunately both closed / not serving food so just messaged the Talbot. It's bank holiday Monday so I'm thinking best to book ahead of time

I hear a lot of people say that but hand on heart we have never had a bad meal at the RC restaurant and I’m a bit of a food snob!

Can’t say for near by, but in the park our favourite is Woodcutters near Rita / thirteen etc.

Eaten in Rollercoaster once and agree it’s more a novelty…. Food wasn’t great.

Not tried the pizza place for a long time.

Limited options in the park….

We are back there for opening day!

Woodcutters is great BUT the waits last season for food were insane.. 45 mins to an hour!
