It doesn't matter if every flight for the previous 6 months went through tin 30 minutes. Your could still be the one with the three hour wait. Now that you know that it can happen prepare to deal with it.

2 hours for us yesterday - could have been much worse as our Aer Lingus flight arrived ahead of a number of Virgin flights.

We go on Friday and we’re taking a travel pushchair for our 4 year old that fits in the overhead locker pretty much just in case there’s a big queue at immigration.

We’re flying direct next week for the first time since 2012. Looks like MCO immigration hall hasn’t changed much reading this thread 🤣

This is what brings a wry to my face about everyone complaining about three hour waits in the uk. We last landed at MCO in 2019 before the pandemic and we took 2 3/4 hours to get through with a 3 year old and a baby.
Double stroller was after border control so one parent carried the baby and the other the 3 year old, and I struggled with all the hand baggage so looked like a street vendor trying to sell stuff!
The three year old began screaming as she was bewildered and exhausted. When it was eventually our turn the immigration guy gave us a foul look and asked what was wrong with her. We just smiled and politely said she is just tired! Duh!
The airport staff sorry to be sexist (female) clearly felt sorry for us and brought us a wheelchair for her that wasn’t required at the time until we could be reunited with the buggy. That made life much easier.
We just accepted what was going on in order for it to be short term pain for long term gain!
It was soon forgotten until we repeat the experience later this year! This time the baby will be 3 and his screams can be ear piercing lol! Sorry anyone else in line on our flight!

You don't know anyone else's circumstances. People who are worried might also have babies and young children. They might have health issues, anything.

The thing is that air travel is completely unpredictable so you need to be prepared for all of this. Both our flights last year were delayed over 3 hours which we'd not really had before and we've stood in queues for 2 hours. It's the luck of the draw really. I try and book as far forward on the aircraft as possible and just walk quickly to immigration. Do not pass to, do not collect £200. If one of your party falls then sorry no man left behind doesn't apply here 😂

Of course they might. Just like we did at MCO! Oh and a very specific health issue which I travel with. Of course people are worried but it’s not a situation anyone individually has any control over. I don’t see any difference between crowds in arrivals at LHR, LGW or MCO or anywhere in the world. It’s horrible full stop! Sadly though it’s not a unique post pandemic situation.
