Don't know about MAN although I suspect you may stay airside but for future reference at Gatwick the My lounge at the South terminal (not the North one) has a terrace with a smoking section airside. Cost is comparable with the overpriced Gatwick breakfasts and includes food and both alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks. We paid �13pp via tastecard this year.

Not sure if you stay airside when connecting in the U.K. but there are smoking areas at Manchester airside in two of their terminals. I can�t remember which is the terminal that doesn�t have one but it should be on their website. (The one that virgin fly from does have one).

Still? In this day and age I'm surprised they haven't gone... Most airports are now going smoke free which does include vaping.

I think alcohol is a far more serious problem for airports/flights than a few people going outside for a smoke.

Where is the airside smoking area in MAN T2 now? It used to be downstairs in that subterranean hell-hole that was Gate 300 (the gate where you were always bussed to a remote stand).

Gate 300 has gone - it's now forming part of the new baggage sorting facility for the T2 extension.

The whole of the airport is smoke free apart from one tiny designated area far enough away from the gates to annoy anyone.

you can just go outside in any airport then just means you have to go back through security but its fine as long as u have time
