Fort Myers - Things to do, especially Dolphin watching
A colleague has booked to stay near Fort Myers for a few days, can anyone recommend things to do in that area please, she has 2 children, 20+23. Especially any reviews for dolphin/manatee watching. Many thanks.

If they are remotely interested in American industrial and scientific history this place is worth a half day. It's in Fort Myers city not FM Beach.

I would also recommend Edison & ford estates. We loved Banana Bay Tour company in Cape Coral. Afternoon boat trip we saw manatees & dolphins & also the sunset trip was worth doing - more dolphins🙂 if they like animals have a drive up to Babcock ranch eco tours in Punta Gorda for a different close up view of alligators in the wild. Sanibel island definitely worth a visit with a slow drive round Ding Darling refuge to spot the wildlife

We stayed in Bonita Springs, about 20 mins from Fort Myers for 4 nights in 2016. It was more the relaxing part of our holiday before we hit the parks so we spent a fair bit of time on the beach but we went to Miromar outlets (which were great), the see some baseball, tickets for a Fort Myers Miracle were really cheap, I think about $8 and it was a really fun night, and to the Imaginarium which I think is now called the history and science Center

In the winter months Manatees meet up at the Florida Power Station near the 1.75, a month ago 100 were seen.

We like driving to Lovers Key and either kayaking or renting bikes, making a picnic or walking along it’s beautiful beach.
You can also hire bikes, go shelling, visit shops, quirky restaurants and bars on Sanibel & Captiva Islands. We have done the Captiva dolphin cruise a few times and that was great fun! Ft Myers beach is lively with loads to do, eat, drink, shop jet-ski rentals and boat day trips. |

We are staying in Cape Coral in October. In addition to other things raised above... we are Going flyboarding, jet ski tours and plan a trip out in Bruce’s boat... which others seem to highly recommend.
