What does everybody do?

Hi everybody!

I'm nigh on certain that this will have been a thread before, but I'm relatively new (I was a lurker!) and I've missed it.

So - what does everybody do as a job, and how do you go about saving for your Disney holiday?

I'm all about being more savvy with money now that I'm older, and I believe that planning is everything, so I'm trying to get myself in order and become a little more organised.

As a sidenote, as I've posted in previous threads, I'm 2 years out of pancreatic cancer and it does sometimes give me that "Oh what the hell, let's just do it" urge and I think that encourages me to go a bit mad with spending at times, so I'm trying to curb that, too. YOLO and all that, but I need to be a bit more sensible with my YOLOing

I'll start - I'm a qualified journalist (a good one, I swear!) and I have my own PR and Copywriting agency. My fiancé does similar, but is more geared around web marketing and direct response copy. We have a 2 year old, a three year old and my fiancé has a 10 year old from a previous relationship.

I'm a specialist nurse, just left the NHS to go to the private sector. We're pretty lucky in that we don't rely on my income so that's our holiday fund, hence I'm very career orientated

I run the office in the family business, and do some bookkeeping on the side for extra savings (although i always seem to spend it). In my spare time i am a cub leader.
Got two kids one 17 and one 12.
At the moment my weekends are fully booked either by camping or organising Uni visits.

I'm a Project Coordinator in Telecomms. I save money by trying to be as savvy with bills, and keeping general spends to a minimum and we plan most things we buy. It helps I have no kids and both myself and my husband have had successive pay rises over the last decade, we have a fair amount of disposable income so we can go on several breaks a year, 1 long haul and a couple of short haul.

I am a stay at home mum, not out of choice really out of redundancy and anxiety.
